#Clickteam fusion developer vs clickteam fusion how to#
So far I've spent around 75 or so hours on it (according to Steam), so I've learned a how to do the basics of a lot. Some games on steam were also created in Clickteam Fusion 2.5 like The Escapists, Five Night's At Freddy's, which have both indeed made front page of the steam store, and there are more listed in the description. The community of Clickteam is decent, the developers do contact users also.

From $100 to about $33 is a great deal! (As of right now, it is 50% off) Anybody else have Fusion 2.5? If you don't know about Clickteam Fusion 2.5, it's basically like a more advanced Game Maker.(Now that I have GameMaker Professional Edition, I know that's false.) Fusion 2.5 is the engine Scott Cawthon (Creator of Five Night's At Freddy's) who did indeed spend around $700 for the developer edition, android and IOS exporters, and probably a few more stuff.

I feel ya m8 :D im more interested in 3D modelling and animation but as being a person who used both ctf and gm, i clearly see how you felt when you compared both.Just recently got Clickteam Fusion 2.5 on Steam since it was %66 off. My game's biggest issues are the graphics and the fact that it's not really that it doesn't change the formula as much to make it stand out from other platformers. It's not bad from the feedback I'm getting but most people are telling me that I can do better. And with games like FNAF, Freedom Planet, AVGN Adventures, and much more, it seems like CTF2.5 is here to stay, and kicks GM out for good. No coding required!!! Sure the UI is a bit dated, and the sprite editor is a bit weird especially when you try to erase something off an imported sprite, the engine still is overweight with more Pros then Cons. Make an RPG, make a platformer, make a Doom inspired game, it can do it. What I love about CTF2.5 is that is focuses on what it does best, while still being an engine that doesn't limit what you can do with it. I actually managed to make 4 playable characters who play differently within a week, compared to GM where it took me almost a month just to make one character.

Now I'm using CTF2.5 to make my sequel since my friend got it for me, and I have to say it is much better then GM by a longshot. The only thing that's good about this engine is it's sprite editor, but other then that, I never want to make another game on it ever again. Even it your a skilled programmer it still tends to be limited due to it having a custom language called GML which already takes from other languages like C++ and Javascript, and the less we say about the level editor, the better. Because of this, it doesn't excel at anything and instead leaves devs stranded. It wants to be an engine that everyone can get into, but at the same time it also wants to be an engine for skilled programmers as well. I like to pretend that the engine has an identity crisis. Why? BECAUSE GAME MAKER IS FREAKIN AWFUL!!! My biggest problem with that though is that fixing all the problems will take forever to do. I at first wanted to make another game but I was so eager to expand on what I already made that I just began to develop a sequel instead. I made my first game using Game Maker and released it on Desura.

Well, if you have no reason to go Developer then you may as well only sticks with Standard, doesn't it? You still can sell your games, no limits in income you can get, you'll only want to buy Developer if you are going to go professional, and to me $300 pretty much covers the license to not include Clickteam's name in my product, along with other additional Dev-only features. The rest of the features are just application stuff that really isn't work $300 more dollars.

Plus GameMaker Pro is cheaper and better than Fusion 2.5 Developer, since with Developer you are paying like $400 for basically this: "Royalty free, logo and credit free. I have a hard time using Fusion 2.5 since it's much more complicated, and lacks support and tutorials compared to GMS.

Fusion 2.5 is capable of making software I suppose, but GameMaker is capable of (better) 3D and Networking. Originally posted by Remixful:GMS is less complicated and less limited, along with that you also have the GML for scripting, when Fusion 2.5 only provides visual programming, and things can get very messy and complicated.
